BOARDING AVAILABILITY

Proper socialization helps a puppies and young adult dogs  to grow into a well adjusted and behaved dog.  Many problems can be avoided with early socialization.  This class provides an opportunity for supervised socialization with other dogs while also providing uniquely designed socialization exercises. The puppy class is available to puppies between 12 weeks and 7 months of age or small breeds under 25 pounds. 

Classes are designed to teach puppies between 12-16 weeks of age basic obedience commands and provide critical puppy socialization.  In addition, we work with you to effectively communicate with your puppy and further your bond with your new furry friend. Topics such as potty training, crate training, and chewing/nipping are covered.

THIS CLASS WILL NOT BE OFFERED FALL OF 2024

This class is meant for dogs between 3-6 months of age. Class focuses on introducing basic obedience including sit, down, stay, come, wait, off, place, settle, heal and leave-it. In addition, we address common behavioral issues and spend time teaching puppies proper leash manners.

Often times adult dogs who have been recently adopted or rescued don't have the basic knowledge and skills that other adult dogs may have. This class will help your dog to learn these basic obedience commands and addresses issues with proper manners and household behaviors. In addition, a significant amount of time is spent teaching dogs proper leash manners.

THIS CLASS WILL NOT BE OFFERED IN NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2024

Puppies/Dogs must have completed a beginner basic obedience course in order to participate in this class.  This class will focus on refining basic commands and improving our dog's reliability to complete these commands. In addition, we will work on developing consistent leash manners, managing reactivity and building reliable recall. In this class we will also introduce new skills and tricks to continue to challenge your dogs mentally and physically. 

Training provided for your dog in the comfort of your home. We take the time to work with you and all members of your family to reinforce the dog's training and show you how to continue their training on a day to day basis.

Assessment of your dog and his/her behaviors and an evaluation of why he or she may be misbehaving. We will provide practical solutions on how you can manage or modify your dog's behavior and help them to better adjust to their family environment.

Prepare your dog for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test or to test to be a certified therapy dog. Pawzitive Steps will help you and your dog learn the required skills necessary to pass these tests and will do a mock test with you prior to your official test.

For families who have recently brought home a new puppy. In this session you will learn all things puppy including potty training, crate training, how to address biting/chewing, establishing boundaries  and basic health and hygiene for your puppy. We will cover basic developmental stages and behavioral issues you will experience with your puppy. In addition, we will work with children and members of your family to learn how to best handle your puppy and set him up for success as new member.

Whether you need to board your dog with us for two days or three weeks, we provide outstanding care for every dog in our home.  Daily walks, healthy environment and lots of love and play are included.

This service is provided for owners who would like to board their dog with us while they are away, while also receiving a basic training refresher for their dog.  Training includes basic commands, leash manners and appropriate household manners. While your dog is staying with us they will receive at least one hour of formal training each day to strengthen and refresh their skills.

The intensive board and train option is designed for dogs with little to no prior training.  Training includes basic obedience, household manners, leash manners, advanced commands, appropriate greeting behaviors, proper behavior in public settings and calming and impulse control exercises.  Intensive training can be scheduled for one - two weeks or longer depending on the individual needs of the dog and family.
